Thai Jasmine Rice

  • Cooking Directions

    On the Stove

    Do NOT use bag for cooking.

    COMBINE 1 cup of water and contents of one bag in medium saucepan and stir.  If you would like to prepare two bags, use 2 cups of water.  Each bag makes about 2 cups.
    BRING to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 MINUTES or until water is absorbed.

    REMOVE from heat.  Fluff with fork.  (Add butter and salt, if desired.)

    In the Microwave

    Do NOT use bag for cooking.

    COMBINE contents of ONE BAG and 1 1/4 CUPS WATER in a 2.5 quart microwave-safe dish and stir*.  

    Cover.  MICROWAVE on HIGH for 12 MINUTES.

    REMOVE from microwave and let stand for 5 MINUTES.  Fluff with fork.

    *Add 1/2 teaspoon oil to help prevent boil over, if desired.

    It is recommended that only 1 bag of rice be prepared in the microwave at a time.  Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate.

    Cooking Directions and Other Serving Suggestions

    For added flavor, substitute water with broth, fruit juice, light coconut milk.  For a simple dish, stir in: Soy Sauce, Ginger, Sesame Oil, Garlic, Dried Fruit, Toasted Nuts.
